The Project
The project aims to define, develop, and test effective intervention strategies that employ new technologies to make cultural content accessible to visitors with diverse cultural/language backgrounds and sensory abilities. In particular, the project will focus on the artistic and architectural context of Andrea Palladio.
The main intervention strategies:
Simplification methods
transcreative and transnarrative to make content accessible to international visitors, who do not share the same language, cultural values, and situational competence as local visitors;
Transmedia
(intersemiotic translation) and integration with:
- Audio description and tactile stimuli for blind and visually impaired visitors;
- Visual content, accompanied by Italian sign language and/or subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Objective
The aim is to build an inclusive and replicable digital ecosystem that can be extended to various cultural and tourist contexts, ensuring equitable access to knowledge and historical heritage..
The result of the project
The result of the project, which is intended to be replicable, consists of the development of an interactive mobile application that allows visitors to tailor their visiting experience to their profile and the needs of the Palladian heritage and the broader regional cultural system through the development of connected and interrelated thematic itineraries.
